Last Wednesday, Mallory, Amy, and I went to Landmarc (a favorite of ours) in Columbus Circle for dinner. It’d been a while since the three of us had gotten together and we needed some serious ‘girl time.’ All three of us are in completely different stages (single, newly single/kinda dating, and married) in life but soon, (well, in March) we’ll all be in the same city again and I can’t wait.
We celebrated Mallory’s birthday a few days early with some surprise cotton candy, creme brulee, chocolate mousse, and blueberry crumble. Before you assume we’re gluttons, Landmarc’s desserts are two-bites sized. We kept ordering ‘one more bellini, please!’ in an effort to extend our time together. We updated each other on our lives and I admitted my upset with having dated another two guys who both turned out to be wastes of life (not 100% since I learned a lot about myself, but still) and they made me promise to work on myself and not date until March. I did this in 2010 (Mallory’s idea again) but another hiatus is definitely in order.
It’s really nice to know that these two extraordinary women have my back and have faith in me to reach whatever amazing potential that I’m meant to, and vice versa. We bring out the best in each other in the completely judgment-free zone we’ve created when we’re together.
Oh, and happy birthday, Mallory :)
